November: Overcoming Obstacles and Common Missteps with eLearning Localization

Join us on November 14 and learn how to “build-in” rather than “bolt-on” localization in your e-Learning projects.

Translating content into multiple languages in eLearning is just the first step in the process when you have a global audience. Michael J. Asquith will make the case for localization, and teach you the important aspects to consider.

This meeting will be held on November 14 in Salons A/B of the Comfort Inn O’Hare (2175 E Touhy Avenue, Des Plaines, IL). The cost for STC members is only $15, students $10, and not-yet-members $20, which includes networking, an enlightening presentation, and dessert with coffee and soft drinks. Parking is free and WiFi is included as well.

About our speaker: Michael has recently been promoted to Executive VP, EC Innovations USA. He has worked in the localization space for six years working with multinationals like GE, Moody’s and Texas Instruments and others in various industries including but not limited to elearning, technology, manufacturing, financial and software industries.

Michael’s extensive background includes 9 years in the financial industry where he helped facilitate the concept of true globalization by linking up and recruiting small to medium size overseas brokerage firms. As recent as this past May, EC Innovations was a sponsor/exhibitor at the STC Conference in Rosemont, IL. Additionally, Michael was guest speaker at the Lectora User Conference 2012 (Chicago, IL). With Michael’s solid background in globalization and his passion for international business he is fast becoming a recognized leader in the localization industry.

As always, there will be time for networking before and after the speaker presentation. Registration/check-in begins at 6:00pm and the presentation begins at 7:00pm.
