Having worked in an agile environment for the past four years, John will cover a definition and overview of Agile, explanations of key Agile parts and processes, and ways user assistance can find a place in the Agile workflow.

About the Speaker
JOHN HARTIGAN has been a technical communicator for 17 years. John currently works for Orbitz Worldwide as a product manager where he works in the business travel division designing products for their website and writing about them. He has participated in several usability studies while at Orbitz, both as a leader and as a participant. He has run a team using Agile methodology for the past three years.
John has been a member of STC for 17 years. He has served as the STC Chicago treasurer for the past two years and in previous years on the nominating committee. He has served as a judge for the chapter competition. He has won many awards, including a Best of Show in online communications. He has also won a distinguished award in the STC international online communications competition.
John holds a bachelor’s degree in classical philology from Beloit College and a master’s degree in classics from the University of Texas at Austin.
