As a technical communicator, you’re not only concerned about content, but you also want to ensure the user is receiving the best user experience possible—both with the documentation and with whatever it is you’re documenting. The discipline of User Experience (UX) uses various tools and methodologies to evaluate and improve how users interact with software.
Join us on Thursday, January 21, at the CARA Group offices as we explore Design Guidelines, Personas, and User Testing options, and we’ll discuss how these tools can inform or be informed by documentation. You’ll receive samples of tests and personas and tips on creating your own materials to fit your needs. You’ll leave equipped with the tools necessary to start your own user experience processes and the knowledge to keep user experience at the forefront of your content creation process.

About the Speaker: Zakiya Vallier – UX Experience Architect at kCura
Zakiya Vallier is the UX Team Lead at kCura, an e-discovery software company. Over the past 10 years Zakiya has worked in software, starting as an Implementation Engineer and eventually moving to Product Management. As a Product Manager, she saw a huge gap in the design process and delivery of work to development. She began to informally fill the UX gap, and after some time, officially moved into the UX role. As UX Team Lead at kCura, she focuses on infusing a user-focused mindset into the product, design process, and company.
