In our June webinar, we examine how technical writers can consider user experience design and accessibility when writing technical documentation. Our speaker outlines the six most common accessibility errors and shows how to resolve them.
About Our Speaker:
Sara Doan is an assistant professor of experience architecture in the Writing, Rhetoric, and Cultures Department at Michigan State University (MSU) in East Lansing, MI.
Sara Doan is an assistant professor of experience architecture in the Writing, Rhetoric, and Cultures Department at Michigan State University (MSU) in East Lansing, MI.
She teaches digital accessibility, data visualization, and user experience design, with special attention to design ethics and equity. “In essence, I aim to help students make cool technological stuff, without hurting anyone or anything,” she says.
Her work on data visualizations, preventive health behaviors, and feedback in technical communication courses has appeared in the Journal of Business and Technical Communication, IEEE Transactions on Professional Communication, and Business and Professional Communication Quarterly.
